Why TextMate Tips?
TextMateTips.com was created by and for nerds. If you have never heard of TextMate you need to march on over (figuritavely speaking, of course) and download the trial. TextMate is full of goodies. You can even add in your own goodies. On top of that Macromates has put together a lovely manual that walks you though each of these goodies
Whoa! A Manual!?
Yes! A manual. Those are the books or sets of documentation that most people don’t take the time to read. I must say I am one for reading the manual. I try to document my own scripts and software well so that someone can work from them without me. That said I do understand that most people do not read ‘official documentation’. This site is geared towards the quick “here’s how” or “look what I found” within the context of TextMate.
Could There Really Be THAT Many Tips?
Clearly you have not used TextMate yet. And if you have then you have not used it well. Try clicking the “Bundles” menu item and play around in there for a little while. You’ll see what I mean. Fairly often I find things in TextMate that I didn’t know about. I also find myself creating bundles or snippets for some of my larger projects that have the potential to require some form of monotony.
Go Forth and Learn
We can all learn something about TextMate. Even the most experience users may learn from the perspective of a new user. So take a look around and enjoy your stay!
